UNISK
UNISK are a marine conservation organization fostering stewardship of coral reef habitats around the Yaeyama and Sakishima Islands in Okinawa Prefecture. With tourism and industrial impacts threatening these precious marine ecosystems, UNISK’s important work in surveying and transplanting coral is a crucial step in preserving them. UNISK also conduct educational programs on marine habitat conservation, build relationships with local farmers in order to reduce agricultural impacts, and promote and engage in citizen science efforts.
Bronner’s Japan supports UNISK’s mission to research and protect marine species and ecosystems, and inspire local citizens to learn about how to reduce impacts and contribute to research through citizen science.
