TAIPEI, TAIWAN — America’s family-owned and top-selling natural soap brand, Dr. Bronner’s, held an afternoon “Tea Party” style event in Taipei today, with esteemed members of the media, beauty influencers, and special guests to educate about the company’s history, its supply chain ethics, and how to make one of its signature products, Dr. Bronner’s Organic Lip Balm. The cruelty-free brand is well-known for its iconic, multi-tasking plant-based soaps and its use of USDA-organic certified and fair trade certified ingredients for all of its major supply chains. Along with the workshop on how to make the lip balms, vegan food and beverages were served to guests during the event featuring ingredients also used in Dr. Bronner’s products to demonstrate the brand’s safety.

“We are delighted to have our family’s 160-year legacy of soapmaking in the Taiwan marketplace,” says Michael Bronner, President of Dr. Bronner’s, who is also a fifth generation soapmaker of the Bronner family and the grandson of the company founder, Emanuel Bronner. “We are honored to work with our local partners to demonstrate how our products offer more than just safe personal care. Our products are made with the highest integrity, never with synthetic or petroleum-based ingredients, for increasingly discerning consumers around the world who care about using products which are organic, sustainable, and are incredibily effective.”

For the Taiwan market, the best selling products are Dr. Bronner’s Sugar Soaps made with organic oils and fair trade ingredients, including sugar and white grape juice. These skin softening soaps for hands, face, and body are safe for families and offered in five varieties: Baby Unscented, Peppermint, Lavender, Lemongrass Lime, and Tea Tree. For specific skin types, Baby Unscented, Lavender, and Lemongrass Lime Sugar Soaps are gentle for sensitive skin, while the Tea Tree soap can be beneficial for combination or acne-prone skin. Peppermint, is cooling and soothes oily skin types.

Serving as the base for Dr. Bronner’s Sugar Soap is the original Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Liquid Soap, which are also available to Taiwan and are made with coconut, olive, and hemp oils, and infused with organic essential oils. They are available in Baby Unscented and scented varieties, including Peppermint, Sandalwood Jasmine, Earl Grey, Green Tea, Cherry Blossom, Lavender, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, Rose, Citrus, and Almond. The liquid soaps are known to have 18-in-1 uses, as they can be used for personal care as well as cleaning home, laundry, pets, and more. Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Bar Soaps are also available in these varieties and are multi-use.

Dr. Bronner’s Organic Lip Balms are made with organic beeswax, providing a protective barrier to the elements with no synthetic ingredients. The formula includes organic jojoba, avocado and hemp oils to help with extra moisturization, with only the finest organic essential oils used for fragrance. They are available in Peppermint, Lemon Lime, Orange Ginger, Rose, Cherry Blossom, and Baby Unscented flavors.  Certified organic to USDA National Organic Program standards, because what is used on lips goes into the body. Other personal care product offerings include Dr. Bronner’s Magic Balms for body (available in Baby Unscented and Arnica-Menthol), Dr. Bronner’s Lavender Organic Hand Sanitizer and Dr. Bronner’s All-One Toothpaste (available in Peppermint, Anise, and Cinnamon). All products are cruelty-free and made with USDA-organic certified and fair trade certified ingredients. Other than the lip and body balms (containing sustainable beeswax), Dr. Bronner’s products are also vegan.

“We are honored to be part of Dr. Bronner’s global family offering these safe and high quality products in Taiwan,” says Maggie Bronner, CEO of Dr. Bronner’s Taiwan. “We also believe in the empowering philosophy of Dr. Bronner’s to promote social and environmental values, fair trade, animal welfare, community betterment, and world peace. There is more that unites us than divides us and using safe, clean ingredients that are good for our families and for the Earth is something we can all agree on.”

As part of its All-One philosophy, Dr. Bronner’s has created or partnered with fair trade and organic projects to build equitable supply chains for its natural oils sourced from small-scale farmers around the world – including Sri Lanka for coconut oil, Ghana for palm oil, Palestine and Israel for olive oil and India for mint oil. An estimated 10,000 people around the world benefit directly from Dr. Bronner’s fair trade projects.
