Dr. Bronner’s launches campaign to support Compassion in World Farming
A percentage of UK soap sales will ‘clean up’ farm animal welfare
October 14, 2014
Dr. Bronner’s, the organic soap brand which is known for its high profile activism campaigns for social change, is championing farm animal welfare by supporting Compassion in World Farming (Compassion), the world’s leading farm animal welfare charity.
Between October 2014 to June 2015, Dr. Bronner’s will donate 20p for every bottle of Dr. Bronner’s 473 ml and 946 ml bottles of liquid soap sold in the UK to support Compassion. Customers can purchase bottles of the soaps via all good retailers nationwide including Selfridges, Waitrose, Oliver Bonas, leading health foodstores such as Whole Foods and Planet Organic as well as online via asos.com and Dr. Bronner’s UK website drbronner.co.uk.
The money raised will go to Compassion towards improving the lives of farm animals so they can live a healthy life on the land. Unfortunately, two in three farm animals on this planet today are enduring ‘life’ in intensive farms – caged, confined, selectively bred to grow so fast that their legs and hearts may give way. And very often consumers don’t have a clue. Therefore, not only will customers be benefitting from buying an ethical soap, but they will also be fighting factory farming – so their conscience can be squeaky clean!
Announcing the partnership, Philip Lymbery, CEO of Compassion in World Farming said “We are thrilled Dr. Bronner’s have decided to use their substantial business success to help support our campaigns and improve conditions for farm animals. We admire their dedication to sustainable environmental and farming practices and we are pleased to announce this exciting partnership!”
Michael Bronner, Vice President of Dr. Bronner’s said “Dr. Bronner’s is so excited to support Compassion in World Farming. We are very concerned about the effect our shopping and eating habits have on the world around us. Compassion is working to improve quality of life and conditions for farm animals by making broad policy change – benefiting human health, the environment, and animal welfare. Dr. Bronner’s together with our UK distributor Kinetic, are making a donation from sales to Compassion In World Farming. We hope you will join us and support this worthy cause.”
David Bronner, President of Dr. Bronner’s added “As a dedicated vegan, I’m proud that my family has stepped up to commit resources over the long-term to take on the terrible plight of farm animals and to promote more compassionate and sustainable dietary choices. One doesn’t have to be vegan to want to reduce the incredible suffering of animals in factory farms and to lower overall meat consumption.”
Alex Barani, Kinetic Health Distributor said “As the distributor of Dr. Bronner’s in the UK we are proud to support this important campaign. Consumers in the UK now have a real opportunity to support the work carried out by Compassion in World Farming to help improve farm animal welfare by treating themselves to the best organic soap on the market!”
To join Dr. Bronner’s support for Compassion, customers are advised to look out for the promotional Compassion sticker on 473 ml and 946 ml bottles of Dr Bronner’s Liquid Soap.
