Our Fair Trade and Organic Hemp Oil comes from the Canadian cooperative supplier Farmer Direct and is certified by the Agricultural Justice Project (AJP) as part of Farmer Direct’s “fairDeal” seal of approval, ensuring that farmworkers are paid fair wages and farmers are paid fair prices.
Our Fair Trade and Organic Alcohol comes from sugar cane that has traditionally been farmed in the steep hills of the Bolivar and Cotopaxi provinces of Ecuador. Our supplier, a cooperative called CADO, pays its members a fair price for their organic alcohol and a “social premium” which goes into community projects.
Our Fair Trade and Organic Palm Oil comes from palm fruits sustainably harvested and processed in Ghana’s eastern region. The project is owned and coordinated by Serendipalm, a sister company of Dr. Bronner’s.
Our Fair Trade and Organic Beeswax comes from sustainable sources in Zambia.
Palestine & Israel
Our Fair Trade and Organic Olive Oil comes from Palestine and Israel. We source the highest-quality oil from the Canaan Fair Trade project in the West Bank, the Sindyanna Project in the Nazareth region of Israel, comprised of Arab-Israeli producers, and the Strauss (Jewish) family farm in Israel.
Avocado, Tea Tree, and Coconut Oil
Our Fair Trade and Organic Avocado Oil, Tea Tree Oil and Coconut Oils in part come from various Fair Trade projects in Kenya.
Our Fair Trade and Organic Coconut Oil comes from our Serendipol project in Sri Lanka. Owned and operated by Dr. Bronner’s and local partners, it has become the world's foremost source of certified Fair Trade and organic Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO).
Our Fair Trade and Organic Peppermint Oil comes from mentha arvesis and peperita plants grown in the Bareilly region of India close to Katmandu. Peppermint oil gives our castile soap its famous tingling sensation.
