Black Lives Matter Canada

Black Lives Matter Canada is a nonprofit platform upon which Black communities across Canada actively work to dismantle all forms of anti-Black racism, liberate Blackness, support Black healing, affirm Black existence, and create freedom to love and self-determine. In addition to fighting against anti-Blackness, Black Lives Matter Canada builds community through alternative forms of education, events programming communities, and supporting cultural creation.

Dr. Bronner’s Canada has contributed funding to Black Lives Matter Canada to support the development of an educational program that will enable Black organizers to have the skills to strategize and respond to the many crises occurring in the current moment: police shootings and violence, the COVID-19 pandemic, and systemic economic injustice. Dr. Bronner’s Canada also helped support the development of a new public library project at the Wildseed Centre for Art and Activism called the Liberation Library, where Black authors and their writings are spotlighted and celebrated.
